Arriving at school

The Headteacher and other staff will welcome you at the main gates at 8.30 am.

Reverend Jilly joins staff to welcome children into the main entrance on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Children may go onto the yard with their parents, but unattended KS2 children wait safely with Mrs Beckett until class teachers are on the yard.

The top gate entrance to school, off Selhurst Road, is opened at 8.30 am.

Children in Reception class line up outside their classroom, to be collected by their teacher at 8.40am

Children in Years 1 and 2 wait in the courtyard at Key Stage one from 8.30 am, to be ready for a prompt start to lessons at 8.40 am

Children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 wait on the large playground.

Teachers will lead in the classes at 8.40 am, ready for a prompt start to lessons.

Any children arriving after 8.40am are late, and will need to go through the main reception entrance.

Morning Playtimes:

All children from Year 1 to Year 6 have a 15 minute break during the morning. Pupils at Key Stage 1 are provided with fruit for snack, and KS2 pupils are encouraged to bring a fresh fruit snack ( no dried fruit or unhealthy snacks)

Lunch:

Children in school eat their lunch in the hall and enjoy a healthy, relaxing lunchtime with plenty of opportunity to enjoy their cooked school dinner or packed lunch.  Two midday supervisors  support the children in the hall eating their dinner. We have midday supervisors on each playground to ensure the children are well supervised at all times and enjoy their outdoor play.   Any changes in behaviour are noted and shared with the class teacher, and concerns are raised with the safeguarding leads.  As the midday supervision hands over the class back to the teacher, two children are chosen for 'golden tickets' - as a way of celebrating an achievement over lunchtime.

Collection of children at the end of the school day:

At the end of the school day, children  are handed over individually to their parent or carer by their class teacher. Please make sure your child’s teacher is informed if there is a change to usual collection routines.  During Year 5 and Year 6, parents may request that their child be dismissed from class so that they may walk home from school from Year 5. Permission for this is at the discretion of the Headteacher.
