Local Trust Committee

Schools and Academies have a Local Trust Committee who represent the public and stakeholders and have an active interest in the school.  Our Governing Body comprises of representatives from Trinity Church and Christ Church, staff and parents.

The duties of the Local Trust Committee are to:

1. Ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction for the school.

2. Hold the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils.

3. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

The Local Trust Committee is made up of the following members

•  2 Foundation/ Ex-Officio Governor

•  2 Parent Governors
•  2 Staff Governors
•  4 Trust Governors

Foundation Ex-Officio:

• Rev. Jill Hancock
• Mr. Ivor Leigh

The Foundation Ex-Officio is a member of the Local Trust Committee by virtue of their office.

Parent Governors:

• Mr Robert Hardie

Parent Governors are almost exclusively parents or carers of children currently educated at the academy.  They are normally elected by parents, but can be appointed by the Local Governing Body if not enough people stand for election when the position (s) is first advertised.

Staff Governors:

• Mrs. Susan Davies-Beckett (Headteacher)
• Mrs. Julie Kent

The Headteacher is a member of the Local Trust Committee by virtue of their office.  Staff Governors are selected by election from teaching and support staff currently working at the academy.

Trust Governors:

•  Mr Frederick Steinhobel  (Chair of Governors)
• Miss Catherine May

Trust Governors are people who in the opinion of the Local Trust Committee have the skills required to contribute to the effective governance and success of the academy.

Clerk to Governors:

• Second 2 none clerking service 

The Local Trust Committee holds six meetings each year.

Local Trust Committee members serve the school for four years, then may continue in role if they wish to continue and they are re-elected.
