Growing and Learning in Faith, Hope and Love.
Our Christian Values are at the core of everything we do.
They underpin all our teaching and learning so that
we create a caring, Christian learning environment
in which all our children may thrive
as they grow into happy, confident, and successful citizens.
This year our focus Christian values are those of:
Generosity, Compassion, Wisdom, Forgiveness, Hope, Humility,
Perseverance and Creativity.
These values are taught through all that we do, but particularly through
a daily act of Collective Worship,
and through teaching and learning:
Social, moral, spiritual and cultural education. (SMSC)
We believe that children learn to show respect, understanding and sensitivity to the needs of others by being treated with respect, understanding and sensitivity themselves.
SMSC is taught directly in
weekly lessons in Religious education, Personal, Social and Health Education and Global Education, but also through our daily act of Collective Worship.
In Religious education, we learn about the six major world faiths and how faith impacts positively upon the lives of its believers.
In Personal, Social and Health Education lessons and through our behaviour policy, children are taught to consider the consequences of the choices they make on themselves and others.
In Global Education, children are taught about how the diverse nature of our human and natural world and how each of us can do something to make the world a better place.
As well as our planned curriculum, there are also educational visits, visiting speakers and charitable and fundraising events. Each topic also has a community event so that children can share and celebrate our learning with experts and special audiences.
